If you are interested in working as a freelance makeup artist or looking at starting a new hobby that could possibly turn into a new career, this is the ideal course for you. This makeup course is suited to the absolute beginner with no previous experience. This course will take you from the basics up to the complete level of skills and understanding required by a professional freelance makeup artist. This will enable you to immediately start in the industry confidently. This course is inclusive of all the make-up materials used daily in class.

Over the next 6 months, you will learn all the makeup techniques for creating beautiful on-trend makeup looks. My facilitators are currently still very active as Professional Makeup Artists to ensure that we give very current Industry-related training. Classes are kept to a maximum of 6 students per class, to ensure personal and one on one training. This course is 54 days, spread 6 months with 2 classes per week, every Monday and Friday from 09h30 till 12h30.

This course is very current, intense, and industry-related, it was written and designed by Madeleine Botha (www.makeupbymb.co.za) who has a very successful career in the industry. You will be required to do weekly tasks at home as well as practical homework. When you have completed the course, we do try and assist you to get started in the industry as much as possible. (Work cannot be guaranteed, as it is up to you as a student/graduate to run this as your own business and take responsibility for it and its growth) Please note that you will be needing a model to work on in most classes, bring as many diverse models as possible to give yourself maximum exposure to all kinds of skin colors, skin types, and face shapes.

You will receive a Certificate of Completion after you have done both the theory and practical exam and have been deemed competent in both. For the theory, the pass rate is 70% and for the practical 80% At the end of your training course, you will be given 2 months (60 days) to get ready for your final practical and theoretical exam. (Details to be discussed during class). Please note that this course is not accredited and does not carry a National Qualification.

This course includes a Professional Photo Shoot that will get your portfolio started, this date is to be arranged in your final class.

Included in your course you receive a standard makeup kit with all you need to get started as a freelance makeup artist.
